Battery maker Varta to cut 350 jobs after losing major client

The move affects around 350 ⁠jobs in ‌Noerdlingen and at the company headquarters ⁠in nearby Ellwangen.

The contract with the customer, which was not named, expires at the end of October. Varta’s Noerdlingen ‌plant almost exclusively produces rechargeable CoinPower button cells for Apple’s ⁠AirPods.
