The proposed centre is expected to commence operations in July and will support CIBC’s global technology and financial services functions.

According to government officials, the center will create more than 2,000 jobs across banking technology, data and related functions over the coming years.

The expansion adds CIBC to a growing roster of BFSI companies that have established operations in the city, including HSBC, Barclays, IPL, JPMorgan Chase, American Express, UBS and Wells Fargo.

Separately, food and beverage giant Nestle has also selected Hyderabad for its upcoming GCC. The centre, expected to be operational in the coming months, is likely to fuel the city’s FMCG sector while generating jobs and supporting innovation and supply chain development.
