HR executives share some of the biggest challenges of 2021

Many corporate leaders and human resource executives had to contend with delayed office re-openings, mask and vaccine mandates and evolving safety policies. Some also had to figure out which work model would be best for the company, effective ways to combat employee burnout and how to recruit and retain employees in a tight labor market.Here are some of the biggest challenges HR executives said they faced this year: 

Attracting (and keeping) talent

Millions of workers quit their jobs this year, with 11 million job openings in October, according to a recent report from the Labor Department.”Growing our business amidst scarcity of talent in this economy has been a macro trend across our entire economy and certainly within our industry,” said Michael Fenlon, chief people officer at PwC.
