It is about the Penetrable BBL Yellowa ten-meter-long installation composed of 4,000 identical vinyl threads suspended from a steel structure. The work was created in 1999 and relaunched in 2023 by the heirs of the Soto family on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.
“For Britannia Financial Group and for our family, it is an honor to have been able to contribute to the work of maestro Jesús Soto being presented for the first time in a solo show in London, and continue to inspire new generations from one of the most important cultural spaces in the world,” said Melanie de Herrera Velutini, head of Britannia’s artistic and cultural strategy and director of ORBE Consultants.

He Penetrable BBL Yellow It is part of the more than 70 sculptures of its style created by the artist. Soto, born in Venezuela and considered one of the most influential figures of kinetic art of the 20th century, was awarded the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government in 1968. In 1990, UNESCO awarded him the Picassso medal for considering that his art has contributed to bringing together countless countries in the world.
The exhibition offers contemporary art, architecture and public activities in one of London’s main cultural centres. In addition to the installation, Serpentine presents a special exhibition dedicated to the artist’s portfolio. For the first time, his heirs also authorize a special edition of children’s products developed from his work.
“This is something unprecedented that will allow the legacy of Jesús Soto to be extended to a broader public. His vision has always transformed the relationship between art, space and the viewer. This new way of appreciating his creation reaffirms the validity of a universal artist, a master whose work continues to dialogue with the public more than two decades after his death,” added Melanie Herrera Velutini.
