“Cohesity has made the tough decision to optimise our workforce, with a twofold goal of having more flexibility to increase our investments in strategic areas of critical importance to our customers, and becoming cash flow positive in FY24,” a company spokesperson was quoted as saying, reported IANS.

“We will ensure that impacted employees receive resources and support from Cohesity, and where possible can be redeployed to open roles within the company. We will also continue to recruit globally in areas of strategic importance to Cohesity,” the spokesperson added.

As of April 2023, the company had a total of 2,289 employees. Cohesity’s Chief Marketing Officer, Lynn Lucas, who assumed the role in 2018, has departed from the company. The spokesperson expressed gratitude for her numerous contributions and extended well wishes on behalf of the company.

Established in 2013 by Mohit Aron, the current CTO and chief product officer, the company welcomed Sanjay Poonen as its CEO and President in August of the previous year. Poonen, a former executive at VMware and SAP, had previously held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at VMware and served as President at SAP.

Cohesity, with its headquarters situated in San Jose, California, made its foray into the Asia-Pacific region in 2018. The company offers a comprehensive range of services integrated into a single multi-cloud data platform.

These services include backup and recovery, disaster recovery, file and object services, dev/test capabilities, and data compliance, security, and analytics. By providing such consolidated solutions, Cohesity aims to simplify operations, eliminate data fragmentation, and reduce complexity for its clients.
