At Rush University Medical Center, Workers to Reiterate Demands for First Contract
, /PRNewswire/ — The Teamsters who provide information technology (IT) services at Rush University Medical Center will hold a press conference at 12 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2 to demand their employer bargain in good faith. The 40 members of Teamsters Local 743 at TEK Systems, which is contracted by Rush University Medical Center, work around the clock to ensure the networks and systems that are integral to daily operations and patient care are running effectively and efficiently.
These workers voted to join Local 743 two years ago and have been fighting for their first Teamsters contract since. TEK Systems Teamsters are demanding their employer come to the table and negotiate a contract that includes fair wages, respect on the job, and established union protections.
