The Vietnam-based Vingroup company has partnered with 19 universities and higher education institutions in the country to align training programmes with the requirements of the electric-vehicle industry.
The programmes cover automotive engineering, mechatronics, electrical and electronics engineering, automation and information technology.
VinFast provides training equipment and technical materials to participating institutions and has introduced EV repair modules covering battery systems, powertrains and diagnostic software into academic curricula.
Students can also undertake internships at VinFast’s manufacturing facilities and service workshops, with high-performing candidates considered for recruitment after graduation.
In 2025, VinFast and VinUniversity entered into a strategic partnership focused on battery technologies and advanced materials. The partnership provides students and researchers opportunities for joint research, technical training and internships alongside VinFast experts.
India hiring
VinFast is extending its talent-development strategy to its overseas manufacturing operations.
In India, the company plans to create 3,000-3,500 direct jobs at its Tamil Nadu plant, with around 80 per cent of the workforce expected to comprise local fresh graduates and trainees.
The company’s first recruitment drive in the state selected 200 local professionals, while 344 diploma students participated through Tamil Nadu’s Naan Mudhalvan skilling initiative.
In Indonesia, VinFast’s Subang manufacturing facility initially employed around 1,700 workers. The company trained managerial staff in Vietnam for three to four months and deployed Vietnamese experts to Indonesia to train local technicians.
VinFast said its talent-development efforts are aimed at building capabilities across the EV value chain, including research and development, manufacturing, quality control and after-sales services.
The company is expanding its manufacturing and distribution footprint across key markets, including India, North America, Europe, West Asia and Asia.
