GATORADE SAYS THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS TO GREATNESS IN ITS NEW GLOBAL FOOTBALL CAMPAIGN ‘IS IT IN YOU?’

Starting with a campaign video

The campaign is launched with an audiovisual piece featuring Gatorade’s global roster of soccer players alongside young athletes – sweating to perfect their craft. From the precision of Pulisic’s first touch to Vini Jr.’s delicate touch over a crowd of defenders and Alvarez leaping over an oncoming goalkeeper without breaking stride, every moment reflects how sweat, hard work and Gatorade’s science-backed formula can take you where shortcuts can’t. The video features the song “Beto’s Horns” by CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Fred Again.., and Ezra Collective, with narration by legendary soccer figure Clint Dempsey.

“Every opportunity I get to compete I take it as an honor – something I have worked toward my entire career, and Gatorade has been a key part of that journey. Being a part of this campaign means a lot to me, because it is recognition of the unwavering commitment to the sweat and hard work it takes to perform at the highest level,” said Julián Álvarez, team Gatorade athlete.

Sweating Science

Gatorade also brings its legacy of multiple decades of sports science experience to the national team benches of Brazil, Colombia and Canada. In soccer, players can lose between 1 and 2 liters of fluid through sweat during a 90-minute match¹ – and of all the team sports studied, significant dehydration has been most consistently reported in soccer. This insight informs Gatorade’s category-leading hydration science, helping to translate sweat loss data into precise nutrition and hydration strategies for performance.

Gatorade’s product portfolio – which is scientifically designed to replace what athletes lose in sweat – is directly integrated into the training and match protocols of national teams on multiple continents. The Brazil national team recently underwent sweat testing with the Gatorade Sports Sciences Institute (GSSI), offering each player personalized hydration information based on their sweat loss to help them better understand their unique performance needs.

“Gatorade has been there for football players for decades as they pour all their effort into this wonderful sport,” said Mark Kirkham, Chief Marketing Officer, PepsiCo Beverages US. “As these world-class athletes prepare to compete, this campaign is a celebration of the relentless sweat they put in. No shortcuts, luck or tricks are involved.”

This is just the beginning of the campaign – which will roll out globally across social media, digital and in-person activations in the coming months, from disruptive outdoor advertising to a limited-edition global apparel collaboration. Fans can follow Gatorade’s social media channels for the latest news about the campaign.
