Average bonus of 75% for Infosys employees

Employees of Infosys, across job levels 4,5 and 6 of the IT major’s 3.23-lakh strong workforce, are to receive a bonus of 75 per cent on an average, for the September quarter, with some even reportedly receiving 83 per cent as per ET. The bonus will be desposited into their accounts this month. The payout is a result of the strong second quarter results. There was solid growth in the July to September period, with operational performance also going up.

The 4,5 and 6 levels of employees comprise software engineers, team leaders and senior managers. While the payout has dropped with each job level, the average on the whole has been in the range of 70 to 83 per cent. Some employees reportedly feel they received at least seven per cent less bonus compared to the previous quarter, when the average payout was about 80 per cent and most received a bonus in the range of 75 to 89 per cent.

The bonuses paid varied according to the categories the employees fell into on the basis of their performance. The categories included, ‘outstanding’, ‘commendable’, and ‘met expectations’.

The company’s healthy Q2 results played a key role in determining this payout. With steady growth and improved operational performance during the July–September period, Infosys opted to recognize employee contributions through performance-linked bonuses, maintaining its high-performance culture.
