Carnival’s collaboration with Fincantieri, a world leader in shipbuilding, dates back more than 30 years, with the original Carnival Destiny, which ushered in a new era by becoming the largest cruise ship in the world at the time. Today, that legacy continues with a class designed to redefine the passenger experience.
The Carnival Destiny will incorporate a new way of enjoying the ocean from the ship and will become the megaship with the greatest visual openness to the outside that sails the seas. It will feature an unprecedented number of ocean-view balcony staterooms, a renovated lanai deck and more than 4.5 acres of glass, including expansive multi-story glass walls, allowing for panoramic views throughout the ship. Together, these elements will allow ocean views to be enjoyed from more places on board, keeping the ocean always in view and redefining the way passengers connect with the sea.
Carnival Destiny will also offer a radical change in the way passengers interact on board. More than 70% of its spaces and attractions will be entirely new concepts for Carnival, encompassing reimagined dining experiences, state-of-the-art bars and lounges, immersive entertainment and vibrant outdoor spaces.
“Carnival Destiny builds on a legacy that has transformed the world of cruising in the past and reinvents what guests can experience at sea,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “With this ship, we are once again enhancing the passenger experience by creating a vessel that feels more spacious while also helping passengers feel more connected and, ultimately, have more fun.”
Carnival Destiny will sail to destinations in Carnival’s Paradise Collection, the cruise industry’s largest offering of exclusive destinations in the Caribbean, Bahamas and Mexico. Additional details on Carnival Destiny’s features and experiences will be released later this year, with the ship scheduled for delivery in summer 2029. Two more Ace Class ships are planned for launch in 2031 and 2033.
