Toyota Motor North America publishes its sales results for March and the first quarter of 2026 in the United States

  • The gasoline-powered Toyota Corolla Cross and the hybrid Grand Highlander recorded their best results in history
  • Lexus RZ and NX plug-in hybrid recorded their best results ever
  • 32 electric vehicle options available from Toyota and Lexus brands

/PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Today, Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) reported that March 2026 sales in the United States were 211,617 vehicles, representing an increase of 8.5% in volume and 4.9% in daily sales rate (DSR) compared to March 2025. Electric vehicle sales during the month amounted to 115,422, which represents an increase of 2.5% in volume and 6.6% in DSR, and represents 54.5% of the total sales volume.

For the first quarter, TMNA ​​reported sales of 569,420 vehicles, reflecting a decrease of 0.1% in volume and 0.1% in DSR compared to March 2025. Electric vehicle sales in the first quarter totaled 287,276, reflecting a decrease of 0.5% in volume and 43.3% in DSR, and represent 50.6% of total sales volume.

The Toyota division reported sales of 182,606 vehicles in March, reflecting a 6.9% decline in volume and a 3.2% decline in DSR. For the quarter, the Toyota division reported sales of 488,468 vehicles, reflecting a 0.3% increase in volume and 0.3% increase in DSR.

The Lexus division reported sales of 29,011 vehicles in March, reflecting a 17.3% decline in volume and a 14.0% decline in DSR. For the quarter, the Lexus division reported sales of 80,952 vehicles, reflecting a 2.5% decrease in volume and a 2.5% decrease in DSR.

“Our first quarter results demonstrate the underlying strength of our business,” said Andrew Gilleland, senior vice president of Toyota Motor North America’s Automotive Operations Group. “We maintained stable sales year-over-year, even as we faced production constraints and reduced inventory during the launch phase of our traditional sales leader, the new RAV4. This resilience gives us tremendous confidence as we make progress toward achieving our annual goals.”
