UKG gets Tanuka Bairagi as VP-HR, India, UKG

Tanuka Bairagi has taken up the role of vice president-human resources, India, UKG. She is backed by over two decades of experience, having started her professional journey as recruiting specialist with P&O Nedlloyd, in 2001.

From 2002 to 2004 she worked as senior associate-HR at Oceans Connect before joining KPIT Technologies as manager-HR, in 2004. For the next four years, she successfully lead the complete HR function, handling business partnering, HR COEs, learning and development, recruitment, and employment practices for the GBS arm of KPIT.

May of 2008 saw her playing general manager-human resources, at Cummins. Four years later, she was elevated to global technical talent-development leader. During her over five-year tenure at Cummins, she designed and implemented global processes, and change management for new/ changing initiatives. She also lead talent-management processes for the engineers located in Cummins’ major R&D/ tech hubs such as the US, UK, China, India, Brazil, Australia and Mexico

Bairagi’s next stop was Sungard Availability Services, where she joined as director-India HR and global HR technology.

In Feburary of 2018 she moved to Nuance Communications, as senior director, people-APAC and India site leader. For the next five and a half years she facilitated a positive and inclusive work environment where employees could be their authentic selves and do their best every day. She successfully managed people business partnering for the APAC talent base spanning across five countries.

From February 2018 to May 2024, she served as senior director-HR, Microsoft India. Over six years into this role, she moved on to take up the role of head of HR, at Cerence AI.

Now, as VP-HR, India, UKG, Bairagi will contribute to the HCM cloud company’s “mission to inspire every organisation to become a great place to work through HCM technology built for all.” In her social-media post she say she looks “looking forward to contributing to this dynamic culture and partnering with the brilliant team to shape our people strategy and unlock even greater potential.”
