Vodafone Idea [Vi] will facilitate access to 40,000 jobs in Gujarat with the job-seeking platform Apna, giving employment opportunities to Indian youth. These job opportunities have come up in the last three months as Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara markets experienced the highest interest in Sales & Marketing jobs from maximum applicants.
In the last three months, around 12,000 employers have posted job openings in Gujarat ranging from Accounting & Finance, Software & Web Development, Back Office, Restaurant related jobs, and more. The candidates are also preferring jobs that factor in easier access to hyper-local opportunities, remote working and flexible working hours. The latest offerings have generated a lot of interest in women as 30% of the users in Gujarat are women who are applying for multiple jobs like telecallers, accountants, back office, data entry operators etc, the telco giant said in a statement.
To create more job markets in India, Vi also partnered with Enguru and Pariksha to launch its own job and education platform – Vi Jobs & Education – with the aim to target a demographic population of 200 million youth residing in India.
The news comes at a time when many telecom companies are stepping up hiring as multiple job postings related to 5G have increased by 65%. Work from home (WFH) has also emerged as a popular option amongst women in Gujarat who can now work and earn from the convenience of their homes. The monthly salary for the most applied jobs in Gujarat is in the range of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 40,000.
